Gordie Tentrees would like to come to your community!
He is an international touring award winning musician who enjoys performing community concerts, teaching workshops in a classroom/community setting for youth/adults. He has lived in Whitehorse for 26 years.
For younger youth (age 3-12) Gordie does mini-concerts 30-60 minutes in length with a Q & A session at end. He uses 5 instruments in the Country- Blues- Folk- Rap-Spoken Word poetry/songs geared towards each age group, inspiring movement of body and voice. An interactive engaging experience.

For older youth (age 13-18) Gordie does one on one or small group song writing/performing/guitar sessions with a focus on mentoring musical engagement.
Youth learn how to write a song in any genre, sing, play guitar, and perform for an audience.
For adults Gordie enjoys teaching guitar, singing, song writing using songs/music that connects and embraces building a new hobby/creative outlet that fosters personal growth, healing and inclusion.
Gordie also works as a member of an indigenous led healing team Shawthan Nazhi Yukon wide now into his 5th year working with all first nation families in the Yukon on their healing journey using music. https://shawthannazhi.ca/

2 X International Acoustic Music Award Winner (IAMA) winner Gordie Tentrees has arrived. This authentic road poet travels North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, UK/Ireland and Scandinavia with 10 records under his belt and over 5000 concerts behind him. From Celtic Connections (UK) to the National Folk Festival (AU) his ability to hold an audience, weave melody, while juggling the dark with the light is infectious.
He is the proud father of 4 kids and is greatly inspired by his wife. When not on the road he works as a member of a land based trauma recovery team Shawthan Nazhi writing healing songs with indigenous families on their journey towards reconciliation. The program won the 2023 Arctic Inspiration Prize (500k) given out to members by celebrating and providing seed-funding to Northern teams with innovative project ideas they want to see in their community. His song EVERY CHILD won a 2023 International Acoustic Music Award inspired by his journey as a parent to indigenous children while working with families for 30 years.
