We can bring our portable Baby Dragon furnace and associated equipment to your school. In the late Spring or early Fall we can be situated in your parking lot or any open space – when the weather changes we can work in any well ventilated indoor space – shop welding bays are excellent spaces to set up as we have found in Faro and Dawson City Schools. Science lesson, safety session, and one creation per person. Razzel dazzle as time allows. Creations are available the following day. Please note this workshop features 2 instructors and one technician to facilitate teaching simultaneously to ensure each student is able to create a glass piece. The Baby Dragon and crew can be in your school / community for hours or days, depending on what your interests are.

Luann was raised in the Yukon, has travelled extensively in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and lived in Austria, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia and Canada. She is a student, an artist, a teacher, a marathon runner, a skydiver, a mother of six, a wife, a friend and a motivator. Luann graduated with a BFA in Ceramics in 2011 and a BFA in Glass in 2012. Lumel Studios is focused on growing connections between people and hot glass. It is a teaching maker-space and a gallery. Pieces are created within a spirit of Northern exuberance and love for a medium that is every changing through heat and light. Locally Lumel Studios is labelled ‘The Happiness Factory'. Lumel provides tours, demonstrations and workshops designed for elementary and secondary school groups. These programs introduce glass blowing history and techniques to foster visual literacy in students, encouraging them to find pleasure and meaning in art, and to think critically about the pursuit of art.
