Pat has mostly taught herself all manner of art forms because she loves art-homely art and fine art. She also credits her many teachers from the Yukon, Winnipeg, and Italy with her joy in creating, and has enhanced her artistic practice through many hours of workshops in various art forms- watercolour, acrylic, and oil painting, knitting, bookbinding, cyanotype, lino-printing, beading, needle felting, soapstone carving, and art theory and practice with Francesco Fontana, fine-artist of Milan, Italy. Most recently, the beaded photographs on canvas came out of a dream she had while in Turkey, that left her wondering how she could combine photographs with beads. She saw the presence of artistic beadwork in so many areas of the world as a way of ornamenting clothing, however humble. It was artistic work that mostly women did, with modest expense, equipment and space required. Pat wants to celebrate that in her art. This new artform was first shown in her solo exhibition in March,2017 in Whitehorse, Yukon.
