Dances from a variety of folk traditions (primarily from North America and the British Isles). Presented with a simple, step-by-step approach that follows the music and requires no previous experience.
Dancers learn about beat, listening, finding and changing partners, respect and cooperation while having fun.
Descriptions of dances and a separate workshop time for teachers, on how to run their own dances, available if pre-requested.

Tiss is a community dance caller with 10 years of teaching experience. She is trained in Orff Level I (Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music), public school music teaching (Robert Service School), recreation programming and dance organizing (Country Dance and Song Society).
Tiss believes music and movement builds joy and learning, and belongs to everyone in the community.
Tiss has run community dances in Dawson City, Mayo, and Ross River schools, and has held many joint community dance events with the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Government. She teaches with a supportive approach that encourages beginners and experienced dancers alike. Tiss uses inclusive gender-neutral language that encourages all dancers to have fun.
