This program is for high school age students, and will be designed to meet the needs of each group. The program can be a one-time session of 1 hour, or an ongoing progression with 2 hours of instruction time per week throughout the school year. Prep time will depend on the needs of the class. I have already prepped a number of exercises to use as an introduction and to determine the level of the choral group. If the class is already working on specific music, I will help refine what they are doing with that music, or I can work with the teacher to help develop repertoire to best showcase the choral group.

Jillian Durham grew up in Whitehorse and participated in any form of performing she could. She joined community musical theatre, studied dance, and performed a variety of music styles on piano. When Jillian was unable to continue dancing as a young teen, her love of music was able to come to the forefront. She continued her musical studies at Mount Allison University and received her Bachelor’s of Music degree. While at university, Jillian loved her choral classes and utilized them while in Sackville with various choirs and was musical director for a university production of The Wizard of Oz. She also performed in university productions of Oklahoma!, Cabaret and Wizard of Oz. Since returning to Whitehorse, Jillian has conducted, sung, played and taught while trying to keep up with her two young boys.
