Born and raised in Whitehorse, Virgil Royle developed a love for a diverse range of music music from a young age and ultimately led to his study of Jazz acoustic bass at the University of Windsor. While at the university, Royle studied under Michael Palazzolo and learned a diverse array of techniques and styles that allowed him to play in big band, concert band, and popular music groups both in Windsor and back in Whitehorse.
Royle returned to Whitehorse in 2023 with a bachelor of music in hand and prepared to bring his new knowledge and a passion for education to the music scene and to students. Royle now gigs frequently in many idioms and can be found sharing improvisational music with other local players.
