Caitlin Irvine

Caitlin was born in Saskatchewan but raised a Yukoner. She grew up in the small Yukon community of Faro, on an acreage located on the Magundy River. Caitlin has dabbled in arts and crafts her whole life, she was raised by her Mother (the notable Yukon Artist Jackie Dowell-Irvine) and Father who both possess artistic talents. She has no formal artistic education but was fortunate enough to receive a lifetime of mentorship in the arts by both her parents through her homeschooled upbringing on the land. Teslin, Yukon is now home for Caitlin. In 2020 she and her partner built a home there and in 2023 they were blessed with their first child, a boy.

After the birth of her child Caitlin's connection to art, in the form of watercolour, was rekindled. She believes that the creative energy employed in motherhood goes hand in hand with creating art. As a full-time mother and homemaker, Caitlin is now passionate about painting Yukon landscapes. She strives to capture their likeness with soft washes and attention to detail. Inspiration for her painting can be found just about anywhere in the Yukon. She often finds stimulus for her work while partaking in her other interest such as, hunting, fishing, foraging and gardening. Caitlin has worked in a variety of different industries in her life including the service industry, politics, highway maintenance, water treatment, and renewable resources. Her dreams and goals for the future are to pursue her sacred calling of motherhood, art, women's health, birthwork and homesteading. She hopes that her story and art will evolve to reflect the elements of her interests over time, and also inspire others to search for their sacred calling in life.
