In the first one-hour session, students will learn the basics of sequential storytelling and take part in a group comic activity to practice their storytelling and visual analytical skills. Teachers can select from the following student activities for the second session: 1) a one-page autobiographical comic; 2) a one-page fictional story (can be focused to tie into a curriculum unit) or a “One Second, One Minute, One Hour” comic art activity.

Jessica Prentice loves to share her passion for the comic arts. She is a founding organizer of YukomiCon, Yukon’s comic convention, and has organized or led myriad comics-based community events, including Drink n’ Draw nights at the Deck, the 12 Hour Comic Book Challenge, and teen comics programming at Whitehorse Public Library. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in literature and is currently undertaking a Master of Fine Arts in Comics Illustration.
