Carving Workshop with Gary Tautenhahn

Learn to carve a pendant out of antler. Other workshops also available for brooches, small masks, sculptures etc. If possible Gary would like collaborate with the First Nations Language Teacher at each school to learn the traditional names for each object made.

Gary Tautenthahn

Gary Tautenthahn, Kalak, was born in Nuuk, Greenland and raised in Northwest Territories. Gary learned his skills from the Fine Arts Studio in Iqaluit, Baffin Islands, and from the Northwest Territories’ Elders. He has worked with Bill Reid, Judas Ullulaaq, Pauta Saila, and Sonny McDonald. Gary has worked with special needs students in Iqaluit, Nunavut and Fort Smith, NWT.
